CREA.T.Y.V.

The European development agency now participates in a new international project which has started on the 1st April 2017. The project called CREA.T.Y.V. will run for 24 months and there are five participants from the Czech Republic, Italy, Ireland and Romania. The project aims at engaging young people with limited social opportunities to the community thus, increasing their self-confidence and social skills so that they could become active agents in shaping the future society. CREA.T.Y.V. is financed from the Erasmus + programme.

CREA.T.Y.V. (Creative Drama For Training Young Volunteers In Intergenerational Learning Environments) aims at inclusive education of young people who live on the edge of the society. Throughout the project these youngsters gain life experiences and advices from far more experienced volunteers of older generations. The idea of this intergenerational exchange of experiences is to spread tolerance, knowledge of human rights and rules of active citizenship. Therefore, this programme contributes to increasing the social credit of the target group. To achieve the expected results, CREA.T.Y.V. uses the so-called creative drama. Creative drama is an educational method which makes use of the human ability to learn with their entire body. The bases for the method is a group interaction, emotions and cognitive thinking.

The target group of this project are young people aged 18-25. These people are the most frequently threatened by unemployment and poverty which may develop severe social problems and exclusion. Often, these people come from unstable family environment and are missing proper upbringing and education. In every case, the intention of CREA.T.Y.V.‘s participants is to help and support the young people in their new beginnings.

The lead partner of CREA.T.Y.V. is Asociatia Habilitas – Centru de Resurse si Formare Profesionala. That is a Romanian NGO which is engaged in the development of adult education methods.

CREA.T.Y.V PROJECT – LAUNCH AND KICK OFF MEETING

Asociatia Habilitas – Centrul de Resurse si Formare Profesionala is very pleased to announce the launch of the 2 year EU funded “CREA.T.Y.V – CREATIVE DRAMA FOR TRAINING YOUNG VOLUNTEERS IN INTERGENERATIONAL LEARNING ENVIRONMENTS” Project. This is an Erasmus + Strategic Partnerships for Youth project, financed by the European Union through A.N.P.C.D.E.F.P. (the Romanian National Agency).

The project will target young people with fewer opportunities and will involve older people as mentors in intergenerational activities in the volunteering field thus supporting young people to be active factors in communities and to build up their skills and potential. In this way, young people can become involved in changing society aspects and build their future. The project will train young people to be volunteers through creative drama in intergenerational environments, offering them the opportunity to develop social and civic competences, and to contribute to social change. Using creative drama in training is about directly involving people, and specific groups, in improving their own quality of life and skills and challenging a variety of social and cultural issues. Young (18-25) and old (+60) people are two social groups that are most confronted with marginalization and stereotyping.

The aim of the project is to provide non-formal learning opportunities to young people (18-25 years old) with fewer opportunities through a mentoring / intergenerational training program in the volunteering field, using creative drama, offering to young generations seniors volunteers as mentors, creating new skills useful for their social development and integration on the labour market.

The programme will be delivered in partnership with other 4 European partners, namely Asociatia Pro Vobis – Centrul National de Resurse pentru Voluntariat (Romania), Anziani e non solo (Italy), Evropska rozovojova agentura – European Development Agency (Czech Republic) and The Gaiety School of Acting (Ireland).

All partners met in Bucharest on the 11th and 12th of May 2017 for the kick off meeting, and discussed all aspects related to the project’s progress and achievement of Intellectual Outputs, as well as next steps.
