Hnutí DUHA – Friends of the Earth Czech Republic is one of the largest and best-known Czech non-governmental environmental organizations. With more than 24 years of experience, Hnutí DUHA successfully promotes environmental solutions to ensure a healthy and clean environment. Hnutí DUHA employs + 30 staff and cooperates with dozens of volunteers. Hnutí DUHA advocates for better environmental policies, works with the public, policy makers, experts and journalists. It actively motivates people to make changes that limit pollution and conserve nature. It has significantly influenced debate about several policies with excellent results.
Hnutí DUHA focuses especially on the fields of energy and climate protection, resources and nature protection. Hnutí DUHA systematically informs the public about major environmental issues through targeted communication campaigns, cooperation with journalists and municipalities and specializes in public mobilization.
Hnutí DUHA operates nationwide as well as at the international level. It is a member of networks Friends of the Earth Europe and CEE Bankwatch Network. Over the 24 years of existence Hnutí DUHA has participated in many projects with significant environmental and social impact, including projects funded by the EU and other international donors. Hnutí DUHA actively works with public: the project from 2012 under the name “The system of Education” in the field of active citizenship via courses has worked with active public. The project developed their competencies, skills and knowledge about sustainable ecology and similar topics.
